first to fry a380

A Singapore Airlines A380 was grounded last Saturday due to fuel pump problem. This is the 3rd time in 2 months that SIA grounds the A380 for similar problem. I'm sure there are other glitches.

There is a saying that you don't need the best solution, you only need an okay solution but you be the first one to push it into the market. So now you see? Flying an Airbus is not quite the same as driving a land bus, especially one with wheels off the ground.

We need mechanical engineers.

(ps. insider source told me that a particular airline in Singapore blocks this blog on their company network. Now you know why they don't serve chilli crab on their flights. Flight hazard ok!)

  • I am trying to figure out what did I say about them...

did I publicise for their competitors?

did I publish incorrect formulas which their engineers misused?

    *scratch head*

  • No, but then again I'm sure Airbus doesn't block their employees from accessing your blog, given their work efficiency.
In all honesty, these kind of things are going to keep happening because the A380 was problematic from the beginning and it will continue to be problematic.
Since SIA is the first to jump on the bandwagon, then it has to suffer.
    It will get better though.

Same thing if SIA had order the Dreamliner. No matter how, delays and glitches will always occur.
Better safe than sorry, unless someone wants a repeat of MI185 or SQ006.

  • i'll have to check my google analytics to see if anyone from EADS / Airbus access my blog. Yeah, as the engineers gain experience, the bird will be fine tuned.

I think Dreamliner may be worse, since Boeing isn't going to build test vehicle, claiming everything will be done on computer. *shrug* wonder who's the first to fly 787.

  • If I recall correctly, ANA is the first to fly 787..
