what I learn from hr

I was slightly pissed off cos one of the HR project group mates was absent during yesterday's meeting. Then I reason to myself, why getting pissed off over someone who, even if present, won't contribute a thing to the project group?

I'm seriously not giving my group leader face. Why should people get the same grades for the project if they do nothing but leave the dirty work to other group mates? I know some people are born quiet, and so they don't contribute much during project discussion, but to be reading newspaper and books while others are squeezing brain juice is just a turnoff.

I'm going on strike. If that means getting a lousy grade reflected for the module, I'm still going to do it. Sorry to the group mates who are genuinely putting in effort into the project. But if the free riders aren't going to pay the fare and yet still unwilling to get off, then I'm not going to pay my fair share too. Don't ask me to pay for their portion. In the first place I don't even know how one of them managed to get into our group!

Do you know I got A1 for maths in Sec 1, 2 and 4, but F9 in Sec 3?
I play with my grades too if I see the need.

  • there are alot of other ways at getting at them w/o affecting your own grades, dude.

  • i am trying to affect THEIR grades as well, that's the point. When their own points feel threatened, they will wake up.

  • wah it sounds really bad. try talking to that dude first? im sure no one in the right mind wld just throw his marks like that. esp kiasu engin students.

  • Maybe all you need to do is to talk to them properly about how you feel. Keeping quiet may backfire sometimes.

  • snoookems: i can throw away my marks for free if i see the need.

virgil: but also very hard to confront the guys leh..

right now our approach is to load all the typing and report to them guys, if they can't talk, surely they can type.

  • Isn't there peer review for HR??
(If there isn't, you can always go to your tutor...)

You can give your very honest view of that group member(s) of yours then...

I know you are feeling angry and frustrated with that person(s), but it is not worth throwing your grades away because of him/her/them...

It is not fair to the rest of the group (who are putting in effort) as well...
You may be willing to play with your grades, but they may not be...

I still think talking to them first is better, just in case...

  • it makes no much diff to those who put in effort, now only one more slacker wad.

but i may pull stunt and promise to do something and then in the end right before deadline say i didn't do.

    ok sounds evil.

I forgot i'm running for nobel peace prize.
