go bank your head

Just now I called up Standard Chartered customer service hotline to enquire something about my account and I was pretty disappointed.

First time round, the recorded busy busy thanks for waiting for a few minutes still no one answered the phone.

Second try, a male representative picked up my call. His voice was like super soft, so I asked him to speak louder. His tone turned bad, then I caught the questions for my name and IC number, then after that couldn't hear what he was saying at all. I wonder if even ants can hear him.

Then you know what? He hung up on me.
Fine, but he didn't call me back. Hello, you had my name and IC number, you could have checked my record and just called me back right?

Yeah, probably he checked my record and saw that my account only has peanuts inside.

  • I called up ABN yesterday to cancel cards (they sent me 3 when I only applied for 1) & I actually waited for 10min...

But sometimes I called up other banks and they are fast, including Std Chart. I think it's a heng suay thing.

  • fancy. you can keep peanuts in the bank! haha pardon me.

those !@#$#@! called my handphone a few days ago. instead of hanging up, (besides she didnt gimme a chance to say 'not interested!'), i endured the pain while this lady went on and on for 20 seconds about some new credit card they have.
then she was like 'Sorry Miss, but may I know whether your annual income is at least 30K?'

    'Im a stu.dent.'

    'Oh.' Then she hung up.

Felt like slapping her across the face.

  • miss loi: if I didn't end my first call and call again, I wouldn't have spoken to a human.

ahdee: I sent complaint letter to them liao. It's up to them now.

am|go: they are fast when there's someone pick up the phone; if no one picks it up, then you can wait for eternity.

7-up: happened to me in school too. I was nice enuff not to cup her phone and said I was busy, but she kept talking, until the point I said I have no income.

arsene: lol! he used dunno what brand!

  • lol, you try record their recording, then play back to them when a human picks up your call.

  • should send a complaint letter.

Even if you have peanuts, you're still a customer, and deserve to be treated decently.

Somemore now you got peanuts, next time you will have big peanuts. The bank ought to know that if they treat you like this now, next time when you have big peanuts, you may not stay with them.

  • yah I filed a complaint already, but think unless I write to the paper, nothing is going to happen.

It's not like I'm making ridiculous request (such as increase my interest rate that sort), I just want to basic respect as a customer that I deserve.

A big peanut ain't much bigger than a small peanut. =P
