i not from anti-you, i from end-you-ass

Do you have the feeling that I have something against NTU? I won't deny that it's not entirely untrue (err -_-"), even my family thinks I don't like NTU.

I'm not really into comparing NUS and NTU (c'mon, it's beyond comparison, muhaha), and I do sound a bit ethnocentric when I make fun of NTU, but truth is, lately I'm working inside NTU campus and naturally I do see some funny occurrences here and there. When semester starts in August, I will be making fun of NUS again. =P

Actually I look up to NTU College of Engineering a lot (ours is only a faculty, theirs is a college. Wow!). They have nurtured some of the best engineers in the country (my brother included) and what's more, their engineering has more pretty girls. =)

Any NUS student wants to apply for local student exchange programme?

  • i do know of a few peers and seniors who dropped out of ntu after a sem or year to switch to other varsities. Almost all of them had the same reason: don't like the ntu system. The details of which they chose not to elaborate on...

Yeah, agree, some of the engineering facs definitely have a higher concentration of pretty lasses, it makes me mildly jealous, lol~

  • [ene]: I guess they are just not used to it.

I do bitch about nus' system too, just that I get used to it. And get used to bitching about it too.

    Oh, I'm heavily jealous!

averii: actually there's one there, but he holds an nus matriculation card.

  • As an NTU student, I think I can explain some of the things we like or don't like.

Personally, I don't really care which university you are from, NUS/NTU/SMU.

Each university has their flaws and advantages: You chose which uni to enter, you reap the benefits or suffer the consequences if any of the two.

I chose NTU because I was sick and tired of all those years of blank theory reading and understanding. I wanted something more hands-on, something that I could work on and be proud of, and to a certain extent, I got that here so far in my two years.

But hey, that's not to say I won't get that in NUS, just that I wasn't particularly impressed by their openhouse when I went there in 2003.

These little things count I guess, some call it bad impressions, others call it fate, call it what you want, you've chosen something, make the best of it.

I'm sure in NUS, there are many opportunities to shine and work on what you want, it's just whether you try hard enough to find these avenues.

That said Mr Chow, I can go to HK!

    Woot!

  • hey janan: I agree with you!

I'll say NTU engineering beats NUS flat when it comes to hands-on.

Guess it's like to each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

    anyway congrats Janan!
