
Yay, the fabricated parts were finally here yesterday~! With the standard components that were delivered a few days ago, I started assembling my prototype yesterday.
A colleague was saying my design looks so complicated, it would take days to finish assembling it. I took half an hour, coffee break included. The only time consuming part was hunting for bolts.

Designing something on computer or even drafting it on paper is one thing, seeing the real structure is quite another. If the screw can't fit into a hole, it just can't. (happened in my structure) While designing, the software may warn that you are screwing too small a hole, but it won't tell if your screw is too small. (it can go in, but not fit in)
My innovative feature (yes, I'm quite proud of it but I'm not describing it here) seemed to work well, but sadly the control system (written by electrical guys) failed. People always say mechanical failure, how about electronic failure?
Solidworks is so easy to use.
I have to deal with AutoCAD everyday now...
