the analog movement

Ever wonder what's the difference between digital and analog?

For analog signal you basically get smooth curves, whereas for digital signal you will have rectangular curves in steps.

To put it simpler, it's like a girl asking a guy whether he likes her or not and she demands the answer to be either a "yes" or "no" (that's why girls like digital), whereas a guy will give you that "to a certain extent" crap.

As for engineers, we have the DAC: Digital-to-analog converter. Now we can have the kind of answer we want.
