painkiller for thought

Who is closer to the truth,
the doctor or the patient?

I've decided not to see the orthopedic specialist anymore. Imagine wasting time and money everytime to get the same lame answer from them over a present problem that has troubled me for the past 4 years.

I will start my own rehabilitation.

To any medicine students out there: being a doctor is not much different from being an engineer. If you are only passionate about the money, you should go business.

  • How rehabilitation? In any case, good luck!

Being a doctor, opening a clinic in a way also same as going into business. Earn a lot more somemore.

  • i have some medibands which are elastic bands for you to exercise certain groups of muscle.

earning money is one thing, but they should learn to be more compassionate. I read reports of doctors reading crappy magazine at hospital bench while patients were waiting for a long time for their turn to see doctor.

  • That's why Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan is going to import more quality foreign doctors into Singapore so that long waiting queue can be eliminated and at the same time to push the economic to a higher level.

  • now i wonder how is it going to help our economy?

will our doctors work harder like insurance agents competing with one another?

  • there is no cure to an old injury.

hey swave, do you know that singapore do have a lot of quality doctors, only that they aren't in the public sector, and there aren't long queues where they work... hehehe...

but maybe that will push even more local doctors to the private sector where they can rake in the big bucks. i was at mount elizabeth the other day, there were so many freaking rich indonesians there. what does the gov call it "medical tourism" or "health tourism" or something along those lines...

  • Exactly xxoos! That's why rich people can live longer, immediate medical treatment at private sector hospital. Conversely, poor people die before his/her next appointment arrives.

Chillycraps: As for you, better don't do strenuous exercise if you were once injured, especially when you reach the age of qualify to apply senior citizen ezlink card. Coz' all your 'spare parts' start to breakdown and need a 'major' overhaul. Hehe....just kidding.

  • sian, supplier no longer make those spare parts, must go nus workshop 2 to make one from scratch.
