boring drawing

Sometimes when you are bored, you draw. And when you draw, you usually draw things that you like, things that you miss, or things that are absolute rubbish.

That's a SAR-21 rifle modelled using SolidWorks.
Don't expect to see firing mechanism or moving parts.

If I can get my hands on schematics from ST Engineering, maybe I can model it so detailed that you can even unscrew the muzzle.

Wait long long.

  • Wow! Impressive.

Where did you learn Solidworks? I remembered learning it in AJ but I have totally forgot everything about it. I've never actually mastered it anyway.

  • haha, I picked up the basic using its online tutorials, then last semester I had a module on it also.

Sometimes computer skills are like that, if you don't use it often it will get rusty. Now I can't remember how to programme BASIC and C.

  • Hmm... In reference to "Sometimes when you are bored, you draw. And when you draw, you usually draw things that you like, things that you miss, or things that are absolute rubbish", so is the SAR21 something you like, miss or absolutely rubbish...?

  • I don't like it 100%, I do miss the good old rifle cleaning time, the real thing itself isn't quite close to rubbish, maybe my model is closer to being one.

hmm have I answered your question?

  • What?! You miss rifle cleaning?! No wonder you ex-OCT while me only CPL... Can see from the difference in "on-ness"... Me only sortof miss the long canteen breaks, chionging Naruto DVDs on a portable DVD player and the free supply of comics and magazines provided by my platoon mates... Haa...

  • nothing to do with OCTopus or not..

I wish I can turn my bedroom into armskote (with different weapons on the rack, that is).

  • Arrghh... You won't want that if you, like me, were an armskoteman for the last 7-8 months of your NS term... In fact, for the last month of my NS term, I was the only armskoteman for my company left running the entire armskote...

Okay, I better not talk too much about it liao, in case it brings back bad memories of armskote duties, stock-take, LRI, daily & weekly clearance and security checks, etc...

  • Wow cool!

  • LCC: I have been armskoteman before. Still remember the fun exciting moments when the alarm sounded.

currytan: thanks! hmm should i model a LSV?

  • Alarm...? What alarm...?

Oh well, maybe your experience of being armskoteman is different from mine... You saw it as exciting and fun while I saw it as additional "sai kang"...

  • the alarm that goes when someone messes with the door.

actually cleaning your personal weapon is the fun part.
