soundwave reflection

Another story of me sitting next to the window.

Soundwave actually travels in straight line. I was sitting next to the window, then I thought I heard a speaker right next to my ear (clearly the only thing to my left was the window pane) So I stuck my head out of the window (kids don't try, kor kor got professional training) and found that the music came from my inconsiderate neighbour who likes to blast music. His window was at 45 degree and so was mine.

Perfect angle of reflection.

  • You could open your window ninety-degrees to give your neighbour a perfect acoustic experience. Or maybe a disasterous one, depending on the path difference between the two sound waves that reaches his ears directly and from your window.
